Our Roof Cleaning Process
Before we step foot on any roof, we do a full inspection of the roof. We take note of any problem areas and photograph them. We also note what type of material is on the roof, the approximate age and how much life that roof has left.
Squeaky Clean applies an eco-friendly cleaning solution under 100 PSI (less pressure than a typical rainstorm) to ensure your roof is never damaged. We apply a proprietary mix of algaecides, surfactants and mildewcides to the roof that are highly effective, but safe for the environment, your family, vegetation and pets. We then complete our process with a low-pressure, high-volume rinse to make sure the cleaning solutions and leftover debris are thoroughly removed.

WHY DOES MY ROOF HAVE BLACK STAINS?
Gloeocapsa Magma is the primary species of algae causing your roof to have black streaks. These algae spores are carried by the wind and land on your roof. Precipitation causes the algae to spread in a streak like pattern and spread all over your roof. As the algae grows, it will spread to adjacent homes which is why you will see it on many roofs in the same area. Unfortunately, this type of algae feeds off the organic material in your shingles. If the algae is left untreated, your roof may require costly, premature replacement.
WHAT WILL HAPPEN IF I LET THE ALGAE STAY ON MY ROOF?
Keeping the algae on the roof is far worse than cosmetic if left untreated. In fact, roof mold and algae will cause decay by holding moisture. Your shingles will start to curl up causing the underlying liner to be exposed. The liner will then start to deteriorate. Since the liner acts as a protective barrier between the wood portion of a roof and the elements, you will experience leaking and structural damage that can triple the cost of repair.
